Full course description
Nurses are often at the center of providing specialized medical care that focuses on providing relief from pain and other symptoms of a serious illness. This course will review the goals and practice essentials of palliative care and hospice for persons with serious and life-threatening illness. Essential components of quality of life and application to symptom management are core to providing quality care and accessing the proper tools and resources to support the patient. Disease trajectory and prognosis for determining eligibility for services is also reviewed a a fundamental strategy to creating an effective nursing treatment plan.
