Full course description
With the prevalence of diabetes continuing to rise, nurses and nurse practitioners are pivotal in assessing, treating, and educating patients about this chronic illness. This course will review the prevalence, pathophysiology and diagnostic criteria of diabetes and common thyroid disorders and long-term complications. Students will learn about nursing interventions, self- monitoring and other disease management options including medications, diet/ exercise, and lifestyle.
